FUE or DHI: what is the difference?
Both are ways of moving individual hair follicles from a donor area, usually the back of the head, to where hair is thinning. FUE describes taking out the follicles one by one; DHI usually describes implanting them with a pen-style tool. Neither is simply better. The clinic should recommend an approach after assessing you, and explain why.

What the terms usually mean

Clinics do not always use these labels in the same way, so ask each clinic what the term means in its own practice.
Which one should I choose?
You do not need to choose a technique yourself. The clinic should look at your hair loss, your donor area, the area to be covered and your likely future hair loss, then recommend an approach and explain the alternatives. Be cautious if a clinic sells a technique name as the main reason to book.

- Who assesses you and who carries out each stage. See who performs a hair transplant.
- How your donor area is assessed and protected
- How the hairline is planned for the long term
- What the quote includes, and the aftercare once you are home
