What happens if something goes wrong after treatment abroad?

Contact the clinic that treated you first, using the contact details and aftercare instructions they gave you, and let Turwel know so we can help you reach them and keep communication moving. Before you travel, agree in writing what aftercare the clinic provides and what happens if there are complications.

Who do I contact first?

  • The treating clinic: contact the treating clinic, using the contact details and aftercare instructions they gave you.
  • Turwel: tell us as well, and we will help you reach the clinic and keep communication moving.

What should I agree before I travel?

  • What aftercare the clinic provides, and for how long
  • What happens if there are complications, and who decides what treatment is needed
  • Whether the work is guaranteed for a period, and on what terms
  • Who pays for any extra flights, hotel stays and further treatment if it is needed
  • Whether the clinic has malpractice insurance that covers you

Having this in writing before treatment means you know exactly where you stand.

What does Turwel do if something goes wrong?

We help you keep communication with the clinic moving and can coordinate practical arrangements if you need to return. We cannot give medical advice, and decisions about any further treatment are made by healthcare professionals.
