Can I speak to the doctor before travelling?
Often, yes. Where the provider offers it, Turwel can arrange an online consultation so you can talk through your situation and questions before booking travel. An online conversation cannot replace an in-person examination, so the clinician will still need to assess you in Türkiye and confirm the plan with you before any treatment begins.

What can an online consultation do?
- Help you understand what the provider would propose and why
- Show you what information, photographs, records or tests the provider needs
- Give you a sense of the timeline, so you can plan dates
- Let you judge whether you are comfortable with the clinician and the communication
What can it not do?
It cannot confirm suitability on its own. A treatment plan and final cost should follow a proper assessment by the clinician, and for surgery it helps to speak with your surgeon more than once before the operation. The final plan is confirmed in person.
What should I ask in the consultation?
- Who will carry out my treatment, and what are their qualifications?
- Why are you recommending this, and what are the alternatives?
- What are the main risks in my case?
- How long should I stay in Türkiye, and when could I fly home?
- What aftercare do you provide once I am back in the UK?
